Workplace Investigations and Compliance

This course equips HR professionals with the knowledge, procedural frameworks, and practical skills to plan, conduct, document, and conclude legally defensible workplace investigations. Students master the full investigation lifecycle — from intake and preliminary screening through evidence collection, investigative interviewing, report writing, and post-investigation remediation — within a Florida-specific legal and regulatory context. Special attention is given to Title VII, the Florida Civil Rights Act (Ch. 760), FMLA, ADA, the Florida Private Whistleblower Act, NLRA Weingarten rights, Florida electronic surveillance law, and emerging issues such as AI-assisted investigations and remote-workforce compliance.
