UF Law Partners with UF One Health Center of Excellence and Luiss School of Law to Offer New Course

Organized in collaboration with University of Florida Fredric G. Levin College of Law and One Health Center of Excellence in Research and Training at the University of Florida

Program overview

The Luiss School of Law and the University of Florida’s Fredric G. Levin College of Law and the UF One Health Center of Excellence have joined forces to co-organize the first global executive course that applies the One Health vision to trade of food and agricultural products. In this course, we condense the elements that define the complex interconnections between food production and trade in a world of evolving regulations, and in the face of current agricultural crises that affect national and local economies.

During the course, students and professionals from diverse career backgrounds are exposed to  information on international organizations governing and affecting trade policies of agricultural products.

In addition, students will participate in interactive sessions to learn about crises situations linked to animal and plant diseases, food contaminants, and invasive species. Particular attention is also devoted to international legal issues associated with food traceability, blockchain, and the use of big data to improve our management skills.

The executive course of classes and group work has been developed under the leadership of Professor Ilaria Capua, Director of the University of Florida One Health Center of Excellence.
