The Office of Career and Professional Development (OCPD) welcomes all legal employers and is ready to work with you to create customized strategies for recruiting students and alumni for semester-long, summer, or post-graduate positions. The OCPD has developed a variety of flexible recruiting programs and is eager to help employers meet your hiring goals.

Job Postings


The OCPD is happy to post openings for summer, semester-long, entry-level or lateral positions. Employers may submit a job posting on the web-based data management system, Symplicity. This service is free for employers. Alternatively, you may send the information for posting directly to OCPD for posting at careers@law.ufl.edu.

On-Campus Interviews (OCI)


OCPD cordially invites employers to participate in our Fall and Spring On-Campus Interview (OCI) Programs. These programs provide employers with opportunities to interview our outstanding students for summer and post-graduate employment positions. Employers may choose to recruit in Gainesville or virtually.

Spring Recruiting: Employers are welcome to participate in our Spring OCI Program running generally from February through April each year and resume collection programs throughout the spring semester. Employers may interview 1L and 2L students for summer positions and 3L and LL.M. students for entry-level positions.

Fall Recruiting: Employers are welcome to participate in our fall recruiting programs, which include the Early Interview Program (EIP) and Fall OCI Program. Employers may interview 2L students for summer positions and 3L and LL.M. students for entry-level positions. We have the following upcoming programs:

  1. Early Interview Program (EIP) – May: This program will be fully virtual and will take place on Wednesday, May 20 and Thursday, May 21. The registration deadline for May interview dates is Friday, April 10. Please register for the May interview dates and resume collection here.
  2. Early Interview Program (EIP) – June: This program will be fully virtual and will take place on Wednesday, June 24 and Thursday, June 25. These applications will contain transcripts with Fall 2025 & Spring 2026 grades (if requested). The registration deadline for June interview dates is Friday, May 29. Please register for the June interview dates and resume collection here.
  3. Fall 2026 On-Campus Interview Program (Virtual): The first 2 weeks of our Fall 2026 On-Campus Interview Program will be fully virtual. The dates for this program are Monday, July 27 through Monday, August 17. Please register for the late July to early August interview dates and resume collection here.
  4. Fall 2026 On-Campus Interview Program (Hybrid): Fall 2026 On-Campus Interviews will be a hybrid program and run from Tuesday, August 18 through Friday, October 30. Employers will have the opportunity to select the interview preference for either virtual or in-person interviews. Please register for the late August – October interview dates and resume collection here.

Externship Opportunities


The University of Florida Levin College of Law Externship program allows 2L and 3L students to work between 8 and 17 hours per week for credit while also taking in-person classes at the law school. 3L students are also eligible to participate in our Semester in Practice (SIP) program, in which students work 20-38 hours per week for credit in the location of their choice. Externships may be approved at a wide variety of sites locally or nationwide, including state or federal courts; federal, state, or local agencies; public interest or legal services organizations; or a corporate general counsel’s office.
