David Bowen

Professor of Practice

David Bowen is a Professor of Practice at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he teaches tax courses including International Tax, Corporate Tax, Transfer Pricing, and Tax Methods. Since 2018, he has served as a Professor of Practice at the USD School of Law, teaching a variety of tax subjects. Before joining USD, Professor Bowen taught for 14 years as a Professorial Lecturer at George Washington University Law School and served as an Adjunct Professor in the Graduate Tax Program at UF Levin College of Law.

Professor Bowen most recently served as the National Managing Principal for Transfer Pricing Services at Grant Thornton LLP in Washington, D.C. He has also worked as Special Counsel to the IRS Associate Chief Counsel (International) and as an Attorney-Advisor to Chief Judge Samuel B. Sterrett and Judge Joel Gerber of the United States Tax Court. With over 35 years of private practice experience at large international law firms including Baker & McKenzie, Professor Bowen brings a deep well of expertise in tax law, dispute avoidance, and resolution to his teaching.
