Immigration Clinic

The Immigration Law Clinic handles both affirmative and defensive immigration cases, providing holistic representation to individuals navigating U.S. immigration laws. Students assist clients in applying for benefits like asylum, family-based visas, and naturalization, while also defending those facing removal proceedings in Immigration Court. Meeting twice a week for seminars, the clinic combines theoretical learning with practical training through guest speakers, workshops, and exercises. Immigration Clinical Director, Juan Caballero teaches the clinic alongside Associate Director, Madeleine Sligh.

Student Experience

Manoach Deliscar

“The clinic provides you with a unique opportunity to sharpen your legal skills while simultaneously making a real-world impact outside of the textbook.”

— Manoach Deliscar (3L)

Sidney Thomas

“Being a part of a clinic is the only time before you go into practice where you get to work one on one with clients in a meaningful and supervised way before you’re actually on your own.  I now feel confident in my ability to sit down with clients and see a case through from start to finish.”

— Sidney Thomas (3L)
